Flamin' Hot Air Fryer Mozzarella Sticks
Get ready for a cheesy, spicy, crunchy explosion! These aren't your grandma's mozzarella sticks (unless your grandma is super cool and loves Hot Cheetos).
Ingredients
- 🧀Mozzarella string cheese sticks(12)
- 🌶️Flamin' Hot Cheetos(8 oz bag)
- 🍚All-purpose flour(1/2 cup)
- 🥚Eggs, beaten(2)
- 🥛Milk(1 tbsp)
- स्प्रेCooking spray
Instructions
- 1.Unwrap the mozzarella sticks and pat them dry with a paper towel. This helps the coating stick!
- 2.Crush the Flamin' Hot Cheetos into fine crumbs. A food processor works best, but a zip-top bag and a rolling pin will also do the trick (and provide some stress relief).
- 3.Set up your dredging station: one bowl with flour, one bowl with beaten eggs mixed with milk, and one bowl with the Hot Cheeto crumbs.
- 4.Dredge each mozzarella stick first in the flour, then in the egg mixture, and finally, generously coat it in the Hot Cheeto crumbs. Press the crumbs on firmly!
- 5.For extra crunch and to prevent cheese leakage, repeat the egg and Cheeto coating process for a double layer of spicy goodness.
- 6.Place the coated mozzarella sticks on a plate and freeze for at least 30 minutes. This is crucial for keeping the cheese from melting too quickly in the air fryer.
- 7.Preheat your air fryer to 375°F (190°C).
- 8.Lightly spray the air fryer basket with cooking spray. Arrange the frozen mozzarella sticks in a single layer, making sure not to overcrowd the basket. You might need to cook them in batches.
- 9.Air fry for 6-8 minutes, flipping halfway through, until golden brown and the cheese is melty and gooey. Keep a close eye on them – air fryers can be feisty!
- 10.Serve immediately with your favorite dipping sauce (ranch or blue cheese are highly recommended to cool the 🔥).
"Warning: May cause extreme deliciousness and a sudden urge to dance. Proceed with caution (or don't, we won't judge)."
