Crispy Air Fryer Tofu
Extra crispy tofu, perfect for adding to your favorite dishes or snacking on its own!

Ingredients
- ⬜Extra-firm or super-firm tofu(1 block (14-16 ounces))
- 🌽Cornstarch or arrowroot powder(1-2 tablespoons)
- 🧂Soy sauce or tamari(1 tablespoon)
- BevanSesame oil(1 teaspoon)
- 🧄Garlic powder(1/2 teaspoon)
- 🌶️Optional: Sriracha or other hot sauce(to taste)
Instructions
- 1.Press the tofu: Wrap the block of tofu in a few layers of paper towels or a clean kitchen towel. Place a heavy object on top (like a cast iron skillet or a few cans) and let it press for at least 30 minutes, or up to a few hours, to remove excess water. This is crucial for crispy tofu!
- 2.Preheat your air fryer to 400°F (200°C).
- 3.Once pressed, cut the tofu into 1/2 to 3/4-inch cubes.
- 4.In a medium bowl, whisk together the soy sauce, sesame oil, garlic powder, and sriracha (if using).
- 5.Add the tofu cubes to the bowl and gently toss to coat. Make sure all the tofu pieces are covered.
- 6.Sprinkle the cornstarch over the tofu and toss again until the tofu is lightly coated. The cornstarch is our secret weapon for extra crispiness!
- 7.Arrange the tofu in a single layer in your air fryer basket. Do not overcrowd the basket; cook in batches if necessary.
- 8.Air fry for 15-20 minutes, shaking the basket every 5-7 minutes, until the tofu is golden brown and crispy.
- 9.Serve immediately and enjoy your perfectly crispy air-fried tofu!
