Air Fried Plantain Chips
This is an adapted air fryer method for plantain chips, which are traditionally deep-fried. Enjoy a healthier version of this crispy snack!
Ingredients
- 🍌Green Plantains(2-3)
- 🫒Olive Oil(1 tbsp)
- 🧂Salt(to taste)
- 🌶️Chili Powder (optional)(1/2 tsp)
Instructions
- 1.Peel the green plantains and slice them into thin rounds (about 1/8 inch thick). A mandoline slicer works best for even slices.
- 2.In a bowl, toss the plantain slices with olive oil, salt, and chili powder (if using), ensuring they are evenly coated.
- 3.Preheat your air fryer to 375°F (190°C).
- 4.Arrange the plantain slices in a single layer in the air fryer basket. You may need to cook them in batches.
- 5.Air fry for 10-15 minutes, shaking the basket every 5 minutes, until the chips are golden brown and crispy.
- 6.Serve immediately and enjoy your guilt-free plantain chips!
