Air Fryer Mac and Cheese Bites
Crispy on the outside, gooey on the inside – these air-fried mac and cheese bites are a perfect snack or appetizer!
Ingredients
- 🍝Cooked Mac and Cheese(2 cups)
- 🍚All-purpose flour(1/2 cup)
- 🥚Eggs, beaten(2)
- 🍞Panko breadcrumbs(1 cup)
- 🧈Cooking spray
Instructions
- 1.Chill your leftover mac and cheese for at least 2 hours, or preferably overnight. This makes it easier to form into balls.
- 2.Once chilled, scoop out spoonfuls of mac and cheese and roll them into 1-inch balls.
- 3.Set up a dredging station: one bowl with flour, one with beaten eggs, and one with panko breadcrumbs.
- 4.Roll each mac and cheese ball first in flour, then dip in egg, and finally coat generously with panko breadcrumbs. Press the breadcrumbs firmly onto the balls.
- 5.Lightly spray the air fryer basket with cooking spray.
- 6.Place the mac and cheese bites in a single layer in the air fryer basket, ensuring not to overcrowd. You may need to cook in batches.
- 7.Spray the tops of the mac and cheese bites with a little more cooking spray.
- 8.Air fry at 375°F (190°C) for 8-12 minutes, flipping halfway through, until golden brown and crispy.
- 9.Serve immediately with your favorite dipping sauce!
