Crispy Air Fryer Pork Belly

Ingredients
- 🐷Pork Belly(1-1.5 lbs)
- 🧂Salt(1 tbsp)
- 🌶️Chinese Five-Spice Powder(1 tsp)
- 🌶️White Pepper(1/2 tsp)
- 🍚Baking Soda(1/2 tsp)
- 🍶Vinegar (white or apple cider)(2 tbsp)
Instructions
- 1.Pat the pork belly skin thoroughly dry with paper towels. Score the skin in a crosshatch pattern, being careful not to cut into the meat.
- 2.In a small bowl, mix together the salt, Chinese five-spice powder, white pepper, and baking soda.
- 3.Rub the spice mixture all over the meat side of the pork belly, avoiding the skin. Flip the pork belly over and brush the skin with vinegar.
- 4.Place the pork belly in the air fryer basket, skin side up. Air fry at 375°F (190°C) for 40 minutes.
- 5.After 40 minutes, increase the temperature to 400°F (200°C) and air fry for another 20-25 minutes, or until the skin is deeply golden brown and incredibly crispy. Keep a close eye on it to prevent burning.
- 6.Remove the pork belly from the air fryer and let it rest for 10-15 minutes before slicing and serving. This allows the juices to redistribute, ensuring a tender interior.
