Ingredients
- 🥩Steak (ribeye, sirloin, or New York strip recommended)(1-inch thick)
- 🫒Olive oil(1 tbsp)
- 🧂Salt(to taste)
- 🌶️Black pepper(to taste)
- 🧄Garlic powder(1/2 tsp)
- 🧈Butter(1 tbsp)
Instructions
- 1.Pat the steak dry with paper towels. This is crucial for a good sear!
- 2.Rub the steak with olive oil, then season generously with salt, black pepper, and garlic powder on both sides.
- 3.Preheat your air fryer to 400°F (200°C) for 5 minutes.
- 4.Place the seasoned steak in the air fryer basket in a single layer. Do not overcrowd.
- 5.Cook for 6 minutes, then flip the steak.
- 6.Cook for another 4-6 minutes for medium-rare (130-135°F / 54-57°C internal temperature), or adjust time for your desired doneness.
- 7.For the last minute of cooking, place a pat of butter on top of the steak to melt and add richness.
- 8.Once cooked, remove the steak from the air fryer and let it rest on a cutting board for 5-10 minutes before slicing. This allows the juices to redistribute, ensuring a tender and flavorful steak.
